Aksaray

Aksaray, one of the places where Turkey's cultural texture shows itself most beautifully, is also one of the five cities of the Cappadocia Region. You will love this city waiting for you with its ancient cities, hot springs, valleys and many more unique natural and human elements.

When you go to Aksaray, you can visit the Aksaray Museum in the city center after a local breakfast. After the museum, you can go to the Somuncu Baba Tomb and Complex, and you can also see the Ervah Cemetery, one of the largest in the world, where more than seven thousand scholars are buried. Afterwards, you can visit the Eğri Minaret, Ulu Mosque, Pasha Bath and Zinciriye Madrasa, respectively, and take a short tea or coffee break before continuing. After your break, you can set out to see the Ancient Underground City of St. Mercurius, which is about half an hour away, and visit the Agzikarahan Caravanserai on the road route. After visiting the Ancient Underground City of St. Mercurius, you can continue towards Aşıklı Höyük, the first village settlement of Central Anatolia. When you return to the city, you can buy Taşpınar Carpets to keep a memory for yourself in the bazaar.

After staying at the beautiful hotels of Aksaray and resting well, you can get away from the city a little more and mingle with history. After your breakfast, you can go to Selime Cathedral, the largest cathedral of Cappadocia, which is about 40 minutes away by car, as the first stop of the historical journey. After Selime Cathedral, you can go to Ihlara Valley and see all the churches waiting for you such as Sümbüllü, Yılanlı, Kokar, Ağaçaltı, Pürenliseki, Eğritaş, Kırkdamaltı. You can have your meal and sip your tea after the walk in the gazebos on the Ihlara Valley Melendiz Stream. Here you can explore fascinating historical churches and continue your adventure to the Güzelyurt Manastır Valley. After the historical journey, you can go to Hasan Mountain, the second highest mountain of Central Anatolia, to stay in touch with nature, after a nice meal in the facilities in Helvadere town, you can take a walk for a while, and after seeing the Ancient City of Nora, you can go on the way back.
